1957 Sunbeam Talbot 90
Reg. no. BSV 116Chassis no. A35041130DHSO
Engine no. Unknown
The Sunbeam Talbot 90 range, comprising of the sports saloon and convertible, was introduced by Rootes in 1948. Well-received by the motoring press, with particular praise being given to its styling, it was updated to the Mk. II version in 1950. This included an increase in the capacity of the 4-cylinder engine to 2267cc, helping achieve a rise in power from 64 to 70bhp. Coupled with relatively lightweight, this gave the 90 the ability to surpass 85mph, excellent performance for a car in its class in the early 1950s.
We understand from the current owner that this car has covered about 76,000 miles and the last MOT expired in March 2018. In June 2018, work was carried out on the brakes, including the fitting of new brake shoes, cylinders etc. In addition, various rubber seals were renewed including those around the doors and the boot. BSV 116 is offered in good all round presentable condition, apart from a few areas to the lower body, which will require some attention in the future. There are a selection of invoices supporting the various work carried out, plus a V5c.
Estimate: £6,000 - 7,000
