1952 MG TD
Estimate: £8,000 - £10,000.

Chassis number TD23507 - this example of TD Midget has been in the same ownership for almost 25 years. Presented with documented history for this time along with correspondence from The "T" Register and Octagon Car Club. The production record shows the car the be a standard TD from the chassis number "TD23507" and was complete with a 1,250cc XPAG engine when it left the factory, engine number "XPAG/TD2/23772". However, the T Register record this example under its chassis number, but with a MkII engine number "XPAG/TD3/B43687" which is we have been informed is a Gold Seal unit as per the square engine plate, as replacement engines showed a "B" prefix. Hence the car is understood to be a standard TD fitted with a MkII engine. Please note that the car does not carry a "TD/C" prefixed chassis designation, does not have two side power bulges only one, does not have twin fuel pumps or twin feed lines from the tank, therefore, it is not a Mark 2. We are informed that originally this example was registered within Lancashire during December 1952 prior to obtaining the year related plate it currently displays. The 1950 TD Midget was announced during January 1950 and continued in production until October 1953 by which time almost 30,000 examples had been produced. This example is complete with side screens. Please note that the engine turns but at present does not fire or run. Thanks to Graham Smith for his assistance in researching this example.
