This bike was purchased in Pakistan in 1988 when the owner was working out there, and we understand that it was refurbished and then used before it was shipped back to the U.K in 1989. Since that time this and two other bikes have been in their transportation crates, sitting in a weatherproof storage facility. In the file are copies of manuals and also relevant documentation relating to the sale in Pakistan. In addition there is correspondence between the vendor and the Museum of Army Transport and they were able to provide a copy of the contract ledger, confirming that this Norton was one of 6,000 ordered on the 8th February 1944. Further research could unravel an interesting history.
