1972 AERMACCHI HARLEY DAVIDSON 350SS
Registration No: FTM 652L
Frame No: 253632DGM
Engine No: 253632109044
Estimate: £3,000 - £4,000
AerMacchi made some deceptively simple motorcycles powered by a hugely impressive horizontal four-stroke single-cylinder engine.
The company was bought by Harley Davidson in 1965 and production continued into the 1970s before the company turned to two-strokes and rather lost its way.
This 1972 AerMacchi Harley Davidson 350SS is a late iteration of the trademark Macchi engine. It was imported in 2006 and registered in 2007 by Andrew Bremner and is showing only 11,678kms on the clock (7,250 miles).
The bike had been converted at some time into a Sports model by removing the electric starter motor, fitting low handlebars and a sports exhaust (which has now been replaced by a more neighbour-friendly standard system). The straight-through system, a spare rear wheel, and a spare seat come with the bike.
The bike had an MOT test in December 2006 (no advisories) and has done only 10 miles since the test. It may need a little attention before it gets back on the road, but it is in sound condition, largely complete (no starter) and looks like it is raring to go.
The bike comes with V5C, one past MOT, a photocopy of the original factory manual (in English) a copy of “AerMacchi Harley Davidson Motorcycles” by Mick Walker, and various magazine articles and correspondence.
