Registration No: 229 BKP
Chassis No: FCB11/562978
The Morris Minor debuted at the Earls Court Motor Show, London, on 20 September 1948. Designed under the leadership of Alec Issigonis, more than 1.3 million were manufactured between 1948 and 1972 in three series: the MM (1948 to 1953), the Series II (1952 to 1956) and finally the 1000 series (1956 to 1971).
Initially available as a two-door saloon and convertible, the range was expanded to include a four-door saloon in 1950, a wood-framed estate, the Traveller from October 1953 and panel van and pick-up truck variants from May 1953. It was the first British car to sell over one million units and is considered a classic example of automotive design, as well as typifying "Englishness".
The original Morris Minor Convertible 1957 example offered here is described by the vendor to be in excellent restored condition, and really nice to drive. The car was Fully Rebuilt in 2011 and has only done 2000 miles since. The original transferable registration comes with the car. Kept in a heated garage, and a good car for the Summer.
The engine is a 1098cc reconditioned by Bull Motif with duplex timing chains, spin-off oil filter, and alternator conversion. The gearbox is also a later ribbed style reconditioned by John Evans of Hayling Island. The brakes have also been uprated with a Johnathan Heap disc brake conversion and a servo fitted. A New Red hood with hood bag has been fitted, new grey carpets and maroon/grey interior finish the car off to a high standard.
Note: This description is provided by the vendor and unless otherwise stated is 'Not Verified' by Barons or any person employed by Barons. Prospective purchasers are advised to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of any statements made, whether they be statements of fact or opinion.
