We understand that this 1954 split screen Saloon was imported to the UK in 1998 after residing in South Africa, where it remained in rust free condition.  A total rebuild and refit commenced in the years after repatriation, with all modifications made to an extremely high standard, regardless of cost.
The motor car is now equipped with a 1600cc Ford Kent Crossflow engine with a polished and ported head and purpose made aluminium rocker cover, finished in Ford Blue. In Spring 2016, new twin 40 DCOE Weber carburettors and an inlet manifold were installed.
The gearbox is a Ford Type 9 five speed and the radiator is XR2 with a remote alloy header tank and a polished alloy breather/catch tank. The fuel pump fitted is the Facet type with a filter/pressure regulator and gauge. All hoses in the engine bay are blue silicone.
The exhaust has a purpose made annealed Maniflow manifold linked to the 2.25inch stainless system. The motor car is fitted with a new clutch, water and oil pumps, a remote oil filter and Accuspark electronic ignition.
The braking system is equipped with JLH 260mm ventilated front discs with four-pot calipers (again in blue) and eight inch rear drums. The brake servo has a remote fluid reservoir and the system uses DOT 5 brake/clutch fluid.

The lowered suspension has all round poly bushes. The front suspension has new trunnions, adjustable Spax shock absorbers and JLH adjustable tie bars. To the rear, there is a Mk II Ford Escort axle with a 3.9 differential unit, a four-link purpose made suspension with AVO adjustable coil-overs and a Panhard rod.
The body of the motor car has been undersealed, Waxoyled thoroughly (including the inside of the doors, chassis members and sills), and resprayed to a very high standard in Ford Performance Blue.  It sits on 15-inch Minilite style wheels that remain unmarked, fitted with 185/55Rx15 Toyo Proxes T1 tyres (and comes with a space saver spare wheel).
The interior has Metro Mk II switchgear and steering column, fitted with a 13-inch Mota-Lita leather and polished alloy steering wheel. The instrumentation is in full working order and includes a central rev counter, water temperature gauge and ammeter. Sensibly, the Minor has been fitted with both a battery and fuel pump isolator switches. A fire extinguisher is supplied, and the front seats are reclining with head restraints. Trim is matching and the carpets are grey and remain very smart.
Supplied with the Morris is a pair of Lexan emergency windscreens and a file that contains history from 1998, a Heritage certificate, a list of owners, some MOT test certificates and the V5C registration certificates. The head-turning sporting car has a current agreed insurance valuation of £14000.
