TODAY WE FEATURE

RICHARD EDMONDS AUCTIONS

Allington, near Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN14 6LJ

SATURDAY 14th APRIL 2018

1969 AUSTIN A60 CAMBRIDGE COUNTRYMAN
Reg. no. PVP 896G
Chassis no. AHW9/256549
Engine no. 71171

The Austin Cambridge replaced the A40 Somerset and the new model used all-new construction techniques. In 1961 an updated Cambridge was introduced using a new 1.6 litre version of the straight four, first used in the MGA. An estate version called the Countryman was offered in the range. This is one such estate that the late John Gallon acquired in 2011 and with it came a huge file of paperwork relating to the car, including invoices right back to the 1970's. These relate to all aspects of work carried out and are filed in date order. There is also a file containing various other documentation relating to the car including club correspondence, an original sales brochure and a V5 etc. The car will require some attention, the body is showing signs of rust particularly on the near side. The interior is scruffy but original and the engine has been running recently, although some recommissioning is advised. There is however a current MOT that expires in August this year.

Extra details and estimates:

£1,500-2,000
