1938 VAUXHALL 10 MODEL H
CHASSIS NUMBER: H13087
REGISTRATION NUMBER: 192 UXN
ENGINE NUMBER: H14762
The car market in the 1930s was affected as much as any other, by the worldwide depression. Britain still needed cars and all of the main manufacturers adapted to this by focusing on the smaller more affordable cars. The 10hp market was one of the most hotly contested with Austin and Morris seizing the initiative by introducing new models, but there was room for others and still some brand loyalty. Vauxhall struggled to put aside their luxury brand image in order to compete in this crowded market, but in 1938 they launched their 10hp which was the car that General Motors had always wanted to build since their takeover in the mid-1920s. This car is described by our vendor as in good all-round condition, having been restored by a previous owner in approximately 2006. We are advised that the car drives ok and it is offered here with a V5c.
