1967 MINI MOKE
Originally designed as a prototype for a light military vehicle in the style of the American Jeep, the Mini Moke quickly became far more popular with the civilian population. Indeed it rapidly reached cult status as an alternative beach buggy in the Seychelles, Australia, the USA and many tropical resorts in the Caribbean. Now equally collectable as the Willys Jeep and Land Rover, a Moke offers the most fun for up to four people whilst keeping their clothes on.
Originally registered to Restaurant Albert in central London in the late 60s, it stayed in the Home Counties until, it is thought, 1969 when it left these shores for the sunlit uplands of Monaco. Unsurprisingly, the climate suited it well and it was used regularly. In 1994, it returned to the UK whereupon it underwent a full restoration presenting now, as you see it, in its original green with a dark green canvas roof. Thought to be once the property of The Dave Clark Five, this charming example is supplied with an MoT test certificate valid until January 2018 showing no advisories. Good quality examples are collectable and, rightly so, enormously popular.
