1968 MG C ROADSTER - Historics @ Brooklands 29-06-15

COMING TO AUCTION
FROM
SATURDAY 29th AUGUST 2015
BROOKLANDS MUSEUM, WEYBRIDGE SURREY

1968 MG C ROADSTER

The MGC was a version of the MGB fitted with a 2912cc, straight six engine. Manufactured between 1967 and August 1969, it was intended as a replacement for the Austin Healey 3000. The engine produced 145bhp and was fitted with twin SU carburettors. The body shell was revised around the engine bay and the floor pan. It also had different brakes and revised suspension fitted. Externally the only differences between the MGB and the MGC were a distinctive bonnet bulge to accommodate the relocated radiator and a discreet teardrop to allow clearance for the carburettors.
This delightful MGC Roadster has been owned by the same family since 1985 and has just one previous owner recorded. It is described by the vendor as driving well with no known faults.  It benefits from a recent engine overhaul, where a new cylinder head was installed and is said to now run better than ever. The interior is in very good condition and has had new carpets fitted. The hood is free from rips or tears. The vehicle comes with a V5C Document and MoT Test Certificate valid until April 2016. This presentable MGC is ready for the next adventure with a new owner.
